How Texans Beat the Heat

July 31, 2008

As Texans, we know how to make the most of summer despite the heat, which of course includes popping in and out of air conditioning whenever possible!

Hand-crank lots of ice cream…

Epilogue

Little did we know this was our last summer.

Our last summer to enjoy our lovely neighborhood pool, just a few houses up from our own, with a Texas Hill Country setting…

Our last summer to enjoy SeaWorld…

Our last summer to enjoy Brackenridge Park…

Our last summer to enjoy Gruene…

Our last summer to enjoy Fredericksburg…

We were going to tube down the Comal River…

We were going to play at the Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels…

We were going to go to Washington-on-the-Brazos, where the Texas Declaration of Independence was written,

Would we have swum with the animals at SeaWorld?

My last summer to work in my garden…that I often enjoyed but rarely took photos of. =(

Little did I know this marked the end of one era, and the beginning of a new era of our lives.

Stay tuned!
