Ninth year garden journal: Texas-French Hill Country House

September 28, 2008

Gardening with the butterflies and hummingbirds fluttering near me, and the old toad waiting patiently to be dripped by the faucet, are some of my favorite things.

Walking into the house covered in crepe myrtle blossoms…

Grilling dinner on our shady patio every evening…

These are some of my favorite things.

On special occasions we hand-crank ice cream with an antique ice cream maker. (see header photo)

Waiting for it to set in the freezer is best done while sitting on the patio enjoying Tex-Mex.

A great way to cool off in Texas is by enjoying hand-cranked ice cream.

Our trees are growing so well, that the birds make nests in them.

I love all the bright colors of the flowers in the Texas hot summers.

Dainty flowers in tiny spots make big statements…

Our summers are long which means more time to enjoy flowers.
