Trying out my First Digital Camera at Sea World

August 15, 2007

Living next door to Shamu requires yearly passes to Sea World.

Frequent visits to Sea World requires one’s own digital camera to take an uber amount of photos of all the amazing sites!

And that is what happened this summer of 2007: I got my first digital camera of my very own!

As much as I’ve wanted a digital camera for sight-seeing, I also wanted it for my new blog that started only started last month.

So I’m learning blogging technology, digital camera technology, and trying to upload photos to blogs via html code technology.

Hot Texas Summer Routine

Meanwhile…my kids and I have a great routine to our very hot days of Texas’ summer!

Every afternoon the kids and I go to our local swimming pool which is absolutely gorgeous, set against a rustic limestone canyon full of Live Oaks indicative of the hill country, upon which we just lived on the edge. I used to take a book with me to read interspersed with random laps through the pool. Sigh. And on this day on of those thunderboomers were headed our way, so we were soon en route home, a few houses down the street, to beat the deluge.

On the days the pool is closed for cleaning, we spend the day nextdoor at Sea World!

Cloud Formations

I love capturing the amazing cloud formations, which usually mean a quick daytime heating storm is imminent…

Aquariums

My kids always want to go to the aquarium where amazing tiny sea creatures glow in the dark…

Dolphins

Because the dolphin petting pool is en route, we always stop to say hi. This stop is always my favorite of the day. Whenever I need to pull away from the crowds, I just come here alone to think in solace as I watch them swim so gently through the water, splasDohing here and there…

Ski Shows

Since the park is so large, we always vary the other destinations.

Shamu

Neptune

Sometimes we stumble upon a unique attraction for the day, like the mime engaging with visitors as Neptune from Under the Sea! I couldn’t stop taking pictures, the interactions were so great!

Twirly Paint Pots

And the play areas were the best of any other park!
