And then…I said goodbye to my beloved garden because we were suddenly moving to Virginia.
Today’s early spring feelings on the bright sunny day caused us all to wear shorts and keep the doors open as our household goods were packed up to ship to Virginia.
Suddenly it occurred to me I needed to check the Mountain Laurel! Was it blooming? It’s usually the first sign of spring.
Yes! And what a beauty to behold…one last time.
I loved my garden and my house. There will never be another like them.
While cleaning up the garden before putting the house up for sale, I found a lonely rose at the end of January somehow surviving the cold.
It was one of my antique roses. Will the new homeowners like the flowers and take care of them?
That should have been in the contract.
These flowers brought so much joy, calm, relaxation, peace, and beauty, that they will be missed.
As much as new adventures in Virginia sounds like fun, the old will be missed.
