Inside the box, we found a gorgeously addressed envelope which announced that my son’s paper had indeed been published in the new Second Edition TWSS!
Although most writing curriculum say to write astrong arguable thesis, I’ve only found IEW to define and clearly explain how to do it.
Asked by homeschool moms: How do you do IEW with other curricula? I showcased here mostly with examples from our Becoming History presentations.
Last spring my son’s hoplite article was sent back by the IEW editor with helpful comments.
She Invited him to tighten the paper for a future submission.
Then he bound all the papers together by stitching them together, similar to what he had seen by the Colonial Williamsburg book binder.
My son received snail mail from IEW regarding his submission to Magnum Opus!
Would he rewrite it with the editor’s suggestions, for publication?
For years my kids struggled with their writing skills. My daughter couldn’t write cohesively, whereas my son was overly verbose. None of it made sense.
Surprisingly, we learned that Benjamin Franklin, the cleverly creative writer of the 18th century, taught himself how to write in a manner quite similar to IEW.
My son got super creative with his paragraph on Halley’s Comet, after studying Ancient Mesopotamia.
He created a slider and claslp for his comet pop up book.
