Sixth year garden journal: Texas-French Hill Country House

That spring I stained our new wooden front door with frosted glass! I love this Texas Hill Country style! (see header photo)

While window shopping in Gruene, I found this great Texas star flag holder, perfect for our front post to hold the American flag.

I bought an extra for our garden shed in the backyard, which holds a Texas flag.

In this photo can be seen the paver extensions we put into each side of the driveway, so when both cars are parked in the double driveway, we have a solid landing zone for our feet.

We began the summer by mulching the gardens deeply so they would look nicer and retain moisture.

The kids were a great help!

After we were done we played in the Splash Zone at SeaWorld, nextdoor.

I love all the flower colors: peach, pink, blue…

I love my gardens and Rainbow Gardens nursery for providing the gorgeous flowers in their lovely hill country setting on Bandera Road!

Even though I rarely have time to work in them due to homeschooling, I like to find lovely moments in the evenings where the hummingbirds hang out with me.
