Taking advantage of the great autumnal weather in Colonial Williamsburg during Prelude to Victory, I took a few pictures of my kids wearing appropriate attire.
DUKE OF GLOUCESTER STREET BACKDROP
On the afternoon of our arrival, my daughter debuted her new gown as she and her brother visited with several of our friends from Colonial Williamsburg.
These kind friends always visit with the kids, making them feel special, as they attend to duties to engage other guests, as well.
PEYTON RANDOLPH HOUSE BACKDROP
Loving this colorful autumnal setting matching the nearby trees of the reds in the Peyton Randolph house next to the yellows of the Ludwell Tenement, I arranged my kids for a photo op.
On this day, my daughter debuted her bespoke lavender jacket and petticoat, which she adores.
Meanwhile my son cleverly hides as much as possible the necessary emergency patch job I performed earlier in the day above his right knee.
Details on my sewing of my son’s shirt, waistcoat, breeches, and frock coat can be viewed at each of the links.
In the coolness of the evening my daughter modeled the new silk short cloak I sewed for her.
BACKDROP OF BRUTON PARISH CHURCH
Finally, I took advantage of the autumnal setting sun’s glow on Bruton Parish Church for a picture with my kids. (see header photo)
