A new Handstitched 18th Century Blue Waistcoat for my son

August 9, 2011

Here is the finished 18th century waistcoat for my son, that he got to wear for the first time a couple of weeks ago in Colonial Williamsburg, modeled with the new ruffled shirt I sewed for him.

My son outgrew last year’s blue waistcoat with buff lining, so he requested a new blue waistcoat with white lining.

It’s made with period accurate fabric, 100% linen, and completely hand sewn.

The Colonial Williamsburg tailors gave me lots of tips! As a result, I am absolutely delighted at how well this version lays so nicely.
