Bicarbonate Buffer Lab for Human Physiology

June 22, 2012

And so my daughter has completed taking numerous science courses with Dr. Jay Wile:

  • General Science
  • Physical Science
  • Biology I
  • Chemistry I
  • Physics I
  • Human Physiology

One of her last labs for Human Physiology was quite complex sounding, The Bicarbonate Buffer…which deep dives into acids and bases within the body.

Again, using common household ingredients like vinegar, baking soda, and sprite, she watched colorful reactions of which she kept track on her chart of data.

12th grade science for homeschool - Human Physiology with Dr. Jay Wylie

These science series has taught her science, apologetics, organizational, and study skills.

Especially helpful have been the multimedia and audio files for visual demonstrations and Dr. Wile reading the text to her.

EPILOGUE 2013

A few months after she graduated homeschool, we learned that she needed vision therapy, due to eye tracking issues.

Now that we finally found an eye doctor who caught the problem, we struggled for a year for him to actually help her.

Eventually we found a vision therapist to help, which opened a new world for her.
