Keeping warm and dry, we visited the first three presidents from Virginia throughout their lifetime at various events, for President’s Day Weekend.
Meanwhile I couldn’t help but capture a few pictures of my newest colonial costume accessories, all in cardinal red to buffer the cold, cold snow.
Then all exclaimed: Naaawww, we’d rather be cold in Colonial Williamsburg during Grand Illumination! There is nothing like it anywhere else in the world!
We arrived in Virginia a year ago feeling like Texans. A year later we feel like Alaskans, instead of Virginians with 3 record breaking blizzards.
We saw a bit of snow at Mount Vernon, with the drizzly foggy day set against the distant Potomac.
On this house tour we saw the third-floor of the mansion!
Now that we got 20 inches of snow for our first Christmas in Virginia, we added a taste of Texas…tamales, a San Antonio tradition for Christmas Eve.
We are already reaching depths of snow that top the top 5 December snowfall accumulations, none of which are in my lifetime…until now!
