We always get there early because they are like a 1950s amusement park from the cowboy days unique from any location we’ve ever visited.
The narrow road into this stunning box-type canyon lies between massively high pink granite walls.

We toured the Trail Ridge Road, which allows us to climb over 4000’ as we journey to the sky on the longest and highest continuous paved highway in the world.
Hiking a new trail to some waterfalls and beyond, how high would we go? With a day this great, we expected to see many lovely views.
With rain showers looming, we spent the afternoon walking around Bear Lake while exploring with a field trip booklet I had purchased at the book shop.

Playing in the distant meadow, we saw 2 coyotoes, a mom and pup. In the peaceful setting the chipmunk, perched on the boulder nearby, curiously watched us.
We took a steep downward exit that bordered a rapidly flowing stream spilling over rocks and stones, twisting and turning through the mountains.
We spread most of our time among a couple of hikes, visiting gorgeous waterfalls, taking the main road over the mountains, and taking in all the elk.
