In the 1920s, landscape architect Ralph Cornell, transformed the Quad into a retreat for students, reminiscent of Thomas Jefferson’s University of Virginia.
We spent that night in Pomona at the easternmost end of the former Currier Ranch, owned by my husband’s Great Uncle Alvan T. Currier from 1869-1921.
To coordinate with my husband’s family picture of the West Coast, we hung one of my quilts. Then I proclaimed that painting was of the Currier Ranch in Pamona.
