After checking into our hotel in Washington DC, we walked on…City sidewalks dressed in holiday style to the White House to see all the outdoor decorations.
Although foxes are the most prominent décor item throughout the town, their fame is a result of the many fox hunts and steeplechase races which rely on horses.
The collection began in 1912 with the dream of two ladies, one of whom was the great-granddaughter of President James Monroe, Rose Gouverneur Hoes.
I told the story of the need to restore and redecorate the White House in a historical manner, and rescue nearby Lafayette Square from destruction.
