Built in 1913 in the Breaux Arts Style, The Virginian Hotel was a happening place on the eve of the Jazz Age..and now it was our luxurious overnight abode.
Since I chose a tropical scrub treatment, the masseuse entered with a tray of tropical florals, tahitian vanilla, etc wafting through the room.
Church Hill at Timber Ridge, which was built long after Sam Houston and his family moved to Tennessee, was in the Civil War movie, Gods and Generals.
Suggesting we enjoy dessert indoors to experience that vibe, we ordered 50s style ice cream sodas…and saw all the wait staff in costume.
