Recently I cooked the most amazing French Onion Soup…without beef broth! Instead I only used onions, water, and seasonings, with croutons and gruyere.

Since we’re Texans from San Antonio, we especially enjoyed the opening scene of Charles Lindbergh’s arrival to Brook’s Field in San Antonio, Texas, after WWI.
We are using a terrific book for this: Monet and the Impressionists for Kids, which includes terrific art lessons my kids used for their projects.
The banquet theme was Around the World. The serving teens would wear elaborate costumes and provide coordinating table decorations.
