I wrote my own lessons for the 18th century which reveals imperative elements so we can engage as Americans and promote self-governance.
The art projects included in this book taught us the art of keeping nature journals, like Leonado da Vinci, for our Renaissance unit.
After learning about Lords and Ladies, Knights and Chivalry, Feasts and Entertainments, King Arthur and Robin Hood we invited our guests to a Medieval Feast.
Since I didn’t find a single curriculum booklist we needed/wanted, I simply edited and culled our own list.
Many of our books were found at the used bookstore.
For our Ancient Rome history presentation we welcomed extended family flew 1500 miles to join local extended family members as our guests.
After the play, the kids removed their masks and put on their Greek costumes. Meet the Greek family (with a son who was a Greek hoplite).
After we ate, my kids took the guests on a tour through our homeschool museum of the various ancient cultures we had studied.
Mom proclaims: This homeschool is not fluff! The rest of the family needs to come, and I’m going to tell them that. When is the next history presentation?
