The year 2020 brought me someone new to love, my granddaughter!
Amazingly born on Independence Day, she’s a Yankee Doodle Dandy!
While planning her quilt last month, I asked my daughter what her preferred colors were for a snuggly baby quilt for her baby girl.
Wanting pink, she asked me to use the fabric stash left from her cousin’s quilt, since she liked that so much.
Because of all the smaller bits of fabric among the remnants, and the inability to source more of the same fabric, I creatively pieced as needed.
For the back, I used white minky fabric which is SO soft.
When I couldn’t find any cute pastel ribbon for the ruffles, I sewed some from flannel to surround this comfy flannel-minky quilt.
To secure the quilt layers, I simply tied knots with pale pink embroidery floss.

The Quintessential Clothes Pen – It looks so wonderfully snuggly! I’m sure she will be well loved.
