As I continued stashbusting my sewing fabric, I turned from sewing vintage flair to wear every day to my quilting fabrics, of which I had a huge assortment.
Sewing seasonally, I cranked out as many as I could while enjoying the process, happy that I was also practicing my sewing skills.
I’ll provide details into each of the quilts later, as I complete each one.
WINTER
SPRING
SUMMER
In between these summery quilts, I sewed my daughter’s vintage-styled wedding dress, my vintage-styled mother-of-the-bride dress, and created her silk flower wedding bouquets and arrangements.
FADING DAYS OF SUMMER
By this point, after much discussion with friends, the plan was that I’d move into a sewing aspect of a home-based business…
Meanwhile, I kept creating…
AUTUMN
Before I reached my orange fabrics for autumn, it was time to sell the house, pack, and find another place to live.
Meanwhile, I packed my new quilt tops by season into a giant plastic opaque bin for the upcoming move.
At any point of however long finding a new home would take, I would easily be able to access any quilt top to either applique by hand or hand quilt.
My remaining fabric was also stored in plastic opaque bins, by color for the quilting fabric, or according to type, like for clothes, for home decor, for historical clothing, etc.
Thinking through a home-based sewing business, I wanted everything to be as safe, organized, and easily found later.
APARTMENT LIVING
Finally finding an apartment to share with my son, I decided to turn my bedroom into a dedicated sewing room, and just sleep on the couch.
Using my French Country credenza to store the linens, bedding and keeping things organized is a snap!
