French Country Style Patio Furniture for our Deck

September 3, 2023

Soon after our new double deck and patio were finished, we went furniture shopping.

HOLLOWAY OUTDOOR LIVING COMPANY

Selecting a family business named Holloway Company in Dulles, I decided, after my research, they would be the perfect fit after listening to my husband’s desire to shop at a patio furniture showroom that sold long lasting products.

As we drove on their property in mid-June, I was wowed by all their gorgeous displays showcasing outdoor living!

When we walked into the lovely furniture section, we were immediately greeted by Kasi…and a lovely bistro table set of the Provance collection from Summer Classics.

Although I instantly knew what I wanted, I was prepared to walk around to see what my husband preferred, as in Mid-century Modern.

However my husband knew I liked the design of the bistro set a lot, while he really liked how solid it was.

We were sold!

Since my husband wanted an assortment of furniture to fill the grand space of the double deck, which beckoned him when he first went house hunting, we purchased several different pieces.

When Kasi shared her fabric samples for cushion options, my husband put me to work.

Wanting to bring a bit of the ocean to our deck, I leaned towards aqua colors to coordinate with the metallic blue heron I had purchased for the garden.

BEACH STYLE CUSHION COLORS

Since I debated over Verona Mist, Foggy Ocean, and grey, I took photos of the samples, then held the photos over my deck to audition how they looked with our range of browns and blacks in the decking and patio.

Although I was willing to consider grey to bring in some modern for my husband, he assured me I could go with the aquas.

When I returned the next week, I looked one more time at the samples in the store, against the pictures of the deck on my phone.

With my final decisions made, I placed my order for custom made cushions, that like the furniture, would take a few weeks to arrive.

DELIVERY DAY(S)

Once the cushions and furniture arrived at Holloway, Kasi arranged a delivery date and time for her team.

In mid August, the first shipment of furniture, and all the cushions, arrived.

Hmmm…we struggled with whether the table should go under the deck or not.

Envisioning comfy seating to enjoy the stars and fireflies, I suggested the table go under the deck, where I envisioned more shade.

While some furniture cushions are Verona Mist, others are Foggy Ocean.

Here’s the originial bistro set that first caught my eye…we have that floor model!

While the table umbrella is an old one of ours, I hope to get the next one in aqua coordinating with the cushions, to perk up the boring green-grey siding.

At the end of August, the rest of our furniture arrived! I’ve been just too excited to sit on the chaise lounge to enjoy my garden and the fireflies while reading a book or blogging on my laptop!

All the extra durable furniture coverings were also purchased through the same company.

All that’s left now is an umbrella or two, and their bases to coordinate with the furniture, which I’m talking to Kasi about.

Oh, and a grill that actually works! We can also purchase that at Holloway!

We’ve just been busy with so many projects it’s difficult to keep all the tabs open.

The next night, the first night of September, we closed our summer with an evening dinner at our bistro table on the upper deck, surrounded by lighting provided by our new deck.

What a long year of remodel projects, including this deck and patio.

That’s it until next year, because we have two major trips on the agenda. Stay tuned!

Meanwhile, I highly recommend Holloway Company for anyone in Northern Virginia. This family business has great products, and everyone has been terrific to work with.
