Fourth year garden journal: Texas-French Hill Country House

July 18, 2007

Our next gardening project entailed enlarging the garden in the front yard and planting another Live Oak tree near the original…to create a Texas Hill Country style I often enjoy while driving past some of the nicer homes in the area. (see header photo)

On those drives I was also inspired to get grapevine deer entwined with Christmas lights…then leave them in the garden beyond the Christmas season.

When I found the metallic flags, I bought a handful to place in the front yard gardens.

We also planted a drooping crepe myrtle in the new garden bound the retaining wall.

I’m really loving this house more and more!

Meanwhile in the backyard our trees just keeping growing taller!

We also bought nice weathered limestone rectangular stones to build up the garden along the patio.

And we now have new patio furniture in sage green wrought iron…very French Country!
