Studying Biology I with Dr. Jay Wile’s science series, my son next studied the composition of flowers, where seeds are produced.
From his science kit, he used prepared slides to study the insides of flowers with his compound microscope.
Then he took several flowers apart to find their various structures: stamen, pistils, etc.
A dissecting microscope would also be fun to use, like a giant magnifying glass, to more closely examine the flowers.
Instead, my son used his pocket magnifying glass, the green item in the above photo.
Of the mixed bouquet of flowers we purchased at the grocery store, my son discovered that the tiger lily was the easiest to observe.
