While window shopping in Gruene, I bought a Texas flag holder for our Texas flag, and also a funny historical marker.
Meanwhile I finally took a picture of all the trees growing along the back of the yard.
Since the kids outgrew the playset, that was removed to make room for the Mountain Laurel growing along the back fence.
Nearest the garden shed is the ornamental plum tree, whereas the center of the yard has our second Texas Red Oak.
In order to conserve water, we keep the blade on the lawn mower at a higher setting, then only mow once a week.
Since I keep missing an evening to take the best photos set against freshly mown grass, I have few pictures of how pretty everything is when its peak each year.
Gigantic dripping crepe myrtles on the left with another view of the Mountain Laurel along the back of the fence.
I’m thrilled that the neighbors in back are growing large crepe myrtles because we benefit from enjoying their beauty!
Meanwhile the first Texas Red Oak, nearest the house, provides much needed shade for the yard.
