We weren’t expecting snow.
DRIVING TO COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG TO BE IN EFT
I’m planning a drive down to Colonial Williamsburg soon because the kids and I will be extras in another EFT.
As has become my habit every Virginia winter, I check the 10-day forecast before booking the hotel.
I think the snow clouds sneakily await that moment when I make the phone call to book a hotel room so that they can book their travel plans for Virginia.
Despite 50% chance of rain today, they decided to override the projected forecast.
Meanwhile, I was optimistically unaware of looming snow since we’ve had a rather warm winter so far.
With the sun hidden behind the clouds this morning, I kept the blinds shut even though usually prefer them open.
WE GOT SNOW!
At lunch time my daughter announced it was snowing.
Opening the blinds, we found thick flakes furiously falling.
In disbelief I checked weather.com.
According to their latest calculations: 50% chance of rain through the afternoon.
Surprise, surprise! We had snow all afternoon!
By dinner time weather.com finally announced 100% chance snow!
Funny how it always seems to fall when I make travel plans for Colonial Williamsburg.
I’m now using the skies for my primary source of information for my travel date, since weather.com was caught by surprise today.
I think the internet will be my secondary source of information.
As long as the roads are clear, I’m good.
SNOWY PHOTO SHOOT OF 18TH CENTURY CARDINAL RED CLOAKS AND ACCESSORIES
In the last few days I have finished sewing my new cloak, then I sewed a muff to coordinate with it and help keep my hands warm.
After all that I couldn’t help but trim a hat with redbud roses and pearls!
So…I couldn’t help but capture a few pictures of all these lovely scarlet red items when there is snow outside!
Asking my daughter to join me with her scarlet red cloak, I asked my son to take our pictures.
At this rate a January photo shoot with scarlet will become a tradition, since my kids took similar pictures last year before an EFT!
The wintery scene from my kitchen windows, set among the poinsettias.
