Massive Cutting Table Workspace for my new Sewing Room

May 2, 2023

When I discovered the Ultimate Craft Desk a few months ago, my hubby told me to order it for my sewing room!

SPECS

Easily fitting into my basement sewing room with dimensions at 58″ wide and 82″ long, this large table top provides me the ability to design large quilt tops as I sew up the strips.

I’ll even be able to lay out 60″ width fabric to cut 1950s circle skirts or 18th century petticoats.

At Christmas time, I can even wrap all the presents while the new fireplace safely warms the room!

I can do all kinds of projects!

Since the tabletop stands 38.5″ tall, it’s the perfect height to stand while moving from one end to the other to cut out fabric for clothing, or design quilts.

On each end are 13″ cubicles for which I hope to buy baskets to serve as pattern containers, one for each era of my sewing!

The opposite ends allow space for two tall stools on each side.

Underneath the table on each end are electric power strips for table lighting, my lap top, etc.

CUSTOMIZABLE

This family company creates several versions of this in various sizes, each easily customized in numerous ways.

For example, there are eight cubicles on each side, each 13″ square.

When ordering, we can either leave them all open, or select different inserts to create various types of shelves, drawers, etc.

Customers choose the desired stain for the table top, and can even choose a paint color for the base.

Thrilled with the gorgeous handles on the doors and card drawer pulls, I love I can even add ID tags to the drawer pulls…and it’s all perfect for my French Country style.

For those who prefer modern, I’ve seen customers make that happen too, and everything in between!

FAMILY BUSINESS

Originally designed by the wife for her craft projects, her hubby built it for her.

When she shared pictures of it on the internet, it went viral!

With tons of questions about where to order it, they explained that it was their own creation.

As popularity grew, a family business quickly formed due to demand.

QUALITY

When I scrolled through their facebook page, reading their story, I wasn’t surprised at their immediate success.

As mentioned in my previous post, I had been searching the internet for months for a quality cutting table, just the right height to stand at, large enough to allow cutting patterns out of yards of 45″ or 60″ fabric, to sew dresses, blouses, pants, skirts, etc.

Going out of my mind, I kept complaining to my husband that I only find small flimsy tables.

Nothing practical.

In most of my other homes I simply cut my fabric on the floor since I had wall to wall carpeting.

Since my last home, an apartment, had only wood floors, I agonized as I killed my knees while on the floor as the fabric kept slipping around.

With a small round 3′ wide kitchen table, there was no room to cut lengths of fabric.

Thus, When necessity is the mother of invention, clever ideas expertly executed opens the doors to business success!

Sturdily built, this table perfectly meets my needs.

DELIVERY OPTIONS

Even delivery options vary from picking it up for free, or delivery.

Delivery comes two ways, either traditional shipment, or white glove delivery by the family!

When choosing traditional shipment, assembly instructions are included.

My hubby told me to go for the white glove delivery, so I met the carpenter husband and his older daughter…truly a family business!

They were so nice and quickly assembled the table, then took a picture to post on their social media…which is exactly how I found them.

Drooling over all the options of delivered tables in various sizes to happy crafters across America, I’m excited to have one of my own!

NEXT SEWING ROOM PROJECT

While I still need a floating sewing desk built into my niche unit, I aim to ask Larry, the contractor who has amazingly remodeled two of our bathrooms, the first of which I’ve posted here. Stay tuned.

EPILOGUE 2025

Every time I check the website for the Ultimate Craft Desk, they have more ideas to offer.

Thus, the caveat to some of my details above, is that there might be new procedures in the future.

The above posting was current to when I purchased mine.

I’m so happy about the success of this company!
